On April 1, 2014 Advantage Credit Union issued new ATM and Debit Cards. Along with this came a few changes and benefits like faster activation, immediate PIN changes, and the ability to select your own PIN. We also want to make sure you know how to find ATM locations, options on your spending limit, and when your limit re-sets.
Making Deposits
Some of you may have noticed that the ATM you usually used, now won't let you make a deposit. Basically, it depends on the financial institution as to which network processes the transactions and what they allow you to do on their ATMs. To work around this, here are some solutions. We have 5 local Advantage ATMs and because we are members of the Alliance One Network, you also have over 4,900 ATMs nationwide to use without getting charged a foreign surcharge fee. Just look for the blue and white Alliance One logo. Also, if you look for the PULSE logo, you will be able to make deposits at these locations if the financial instituion allows foreign deposits. So, if you want to find an ATM near you or where you will be vacationing, visit the PULSE ATM Locator site, Alliance One Network site, or contact us for help at 419-529-5603.
ATM Limits
Do you know your spending limit and did you know that this amount can be changed? Initially, when an ATM or debit card is issued, it is usually set at $250.00, depending on your account history. If you would like to change this amount, ask us to see if you qualify for an increase. Some may need to increase the amount just for a day to make a special purchase or maybe you are going on a trip and want to increase the limit for a week. This is possible! So, if you want to personalize your settings, call 419-529-5603 to reach Sue at ext. 238 or Heather at ext. 240. Let us know how we can help!
Spending Limit Time Frame
You would think that your daily limit would start fresh each morning. In the world of electronic payment processing, it's a little different. Your 24-hour cycle runs from 4 p.m. to 4 p.m. (EST), re-freshing the limit at that time. If you think this may cause a problem due to your specific spending habbits, please give us a call to see if you qualify for an increase on your $250.00 limit. This is a case where by simply increasing your limit, you can stretch your spending dollars from day to day to benefit you. It all depends on how you use your card. So, let us know your concerns and we will work out the settings to best fit you.
24x7x365 Fraud Monitoring Program
Most importantly, this update brings with it the combination of the most sophisticated fraud detection technology with experienced fraud analysts. Each transaction is evaluated and if a high-risk alert is detected, an analyst will contact you and inquire about the questionable transaction. We are watching out for you!
We appreciate your continued business and patience during this transition! Please contact Advantage Credit Union at (419) 529-5603 if you have any questions.
