Advantge Credit Union created the Marilyn Archer Scholarship to honor the memory of a former employee and volunteer of 30 years, Marilyn Archer. Marilyn fought a valiant four-year fight against cancer and died at the age of 52.
For many years, the Credit Union has awarded a $1,000 check to the winner to put towards their college expenses. With a simple 500-word essay, along with transcripts, a list of extracurricular activities, and statement of desire, one local senior will get some help with making their first year at college a little easier. A select few from our board will review the submitted applications and choose the winner based on their information submitted.
Applicants must be a member or the son or daughter of a member. If one is not a member, we will open a free savings account up for them. Any graduating senior who is not a member and would like to be eligible to apply, would simply need to visit us at 700 Stumbo Rd. and bring in their government issued photo ID. We are here to support our area students in their journey through life.
Scholarship entries for 2024 must be received by 3/29/24.
